While turmeric is a flavorsome spice that is nutritious to consume, it has also traditionally been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to treat inflammatory conditions, skin diseases, wounds, digestive ailments, and liver conditions.
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp. finely grated fresh turmeric
  • 2 cups chopped mango (2 mangoes)
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup plain 2% reduced-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. light agave nectar
  • 2 cups ice cubes
Instructions
  1. Process the turmeric, mango, banana, orange juice, yogurt, vanilla and agave nectar in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add the ice cubes and blend until smooth.
  3. Pour evenly into 4 glasses and serve.
